Jim Oskinigeesh

Cultural Origin: Ojibway, Eabametoong First Nation, Ontario

Jim Oskineegish is an Ojibway artist who is a member of the
Eabametoong
First Nation,
located in northwestern Ontario, Canada. Jim paints in the Woodland shamanic style using bold lines and bright colours. He enjoys painting the legends and stories of his people and hopes that his art can fill a universal understanding of love, faith and unity. "I want to promote the positive culture of

to the world."

Jim has a post-secondary education in the visual arts and has developed his own unique and distinctive style. If Jim can evoke a response or emotion from the viewer, then he feels he has succeeded in the world of contemporary art. While attending Lakehead University, he received the Mentoring Experience Award at the Lakehead University Student Art Exhibition in 1990-92. Subsequently, he received the
Thunder Bay
Society of

Origine Culturelle: Ojibway, Première Nation d'Eabametoong, Ontario

Jim Oskineegish est un artiste Ojibway qui est membre de la Première nation
d'Eabametoong, qui est situé au nord-ouest de l'Ontario, au Canada. Jim peinture dans le style chamanique Woodland utilisant des lignes audacieuses et des couleurs vives. Il aime peindre les légendes et les histoires de son peuple et espère que son art peut combler une compréhension universelle de l'amour, la foi et l'unité. «Je veux promouvoir au monde la culture positive
d'Ahnisnabae.»

Jim a l'instruction post-secondaire dans le domaine des arts visuels et a développé son propre style unique et distinctif. Si Jim peut évoquer une réponse ou de l'émotion du spectateur, alors il sent qu'il a réussi dans le monde de l'art contemporain. Alors qu'il fréquentait l'Université Lakehead, il a reçu le prix d'Expérience d'Encadrement Durant l'Exposition d'art des étudiants de l'Université de Lakehead en 1990-1992.
